Focusing on the notion of "Design Fiction", this course addresses how design approaches in art/applied art can help to imagine and question the usage of future technologies: how to envision objects and future practices? How one can use design techniques such as prototyping or storytelling to anticipate future changes?
The first part of the course will be devoted to building "noticing practices" (observation, interview, etc.) in order to surface potential areas of changes and opportunities. The second part will tackle how to use such findings in order to generate ideas about future scenarios, and the third part will focus on communicating about them through design fiction prototypes.
