• provide the student with a global view on semiconductor device
principles, operation and architectures
• understanding of fundamentals of carrier transport and energy
bands in solid-state microelectronic device
• provide the student with the basic ability to calculate orders of
magnitude (models) and figures of merit of microelectronic devices
• learn associated device architectures, their operation principles
and main device technology for their embodiments
• learn/understand main applications of the microelectronic devices
(digital, analog, memory, etc.)
• Format and delivery: slides = ENGLISH, oral teaching = FRENCH

• 2 hours lecture + 1 hour exercices per week
• Exam: written, combination of a single and multiple answer QCM
