The course of design of experiments ENG-606 a&b is taught at the doctoral school for twelve years. It is in English, in a bloc format two times the year in September and March and it is addressed to PhD students that are starting their experimental work and then have already been confronted with experimental uncertainties of different kinds. Students are required to demonstrate a high level of autonomy in learning and in the use of numerical tools such as Excel and Matlab. The focus of the course is on the strategical approach of DOE for linear systems. The evaluation is done through a group project which requires the application of the methodology to the thesis subject of the student. The course is not suited for master student who usually do not have experimental experience.
