Homeworks

Good evening,

When doing the homeworks I feel like I have quite a lot of theory missing.

Part of the class is only 2nd year students and most of us have never used Python, numpy or seen some theorems that are used (like the central limit theorem).

Would it be possible to link more theory reviews related to these topics ?  It took a lot of time to finish the first homework and the second one seems even longer.

Sincerly,

Hello Guillaume,

Thanks for the feedback! We are aware that most of you have never used Python and numpy before and the exercises will take some time until you get used to using them. This quick start tutorial might also be useful in getting comfortable with numpy.

The theoretical parts of the first exercise were mainly about using Bayes Theorem, for which I find the wikipedia article quite useful (especially with the examples). For the lectures, we now provide links to the book chapters they are associated with. We will also try to make it so that the exercises contain more theoretical information. If you get confused, we are always happy to help.

Best,

Sena
