When designing a new course or when revising an already existing course, as a teacher you must consider the material to teach, the way to teach it and also the way to ensure that students have learned the material. This course provides a brief overview of these three areas of course design.
At the end of this workshop, I expect participants to be able to:
- Understand the importance of learning-centered course design.
- Define significant learning in the context of a course they teach or will be teaching.
- Identify the starting point for designing of revising such course.
- Appreciate the utility of concept maps in structuring a university level course.
