When evaluating how good the linear classification quality was, we discussed in class that we could get the proportion between the eigenvalues of the matrix of moments (As shown in the attached slide). But why would we prefer to measure this fit with the moment matrix as opposed to using the well known coefficient of determination? Is there any benefit of using the eigenvalues of the matrix of moments?
