A detailed information about grading can be found in the introductory slides presented at the first lecture. 

The final grade (G1) is the harmonic mean (with equal weights) of the theory (T) and labs (L), i.e. is given by the formula  2/G1 = 1/T + 1 /L . The final grade (G) is the grade obtain in G1 rounded to the nearest quarter-integer. For example if your theory and practice grades are respectively 3.3 and 5.1, your final grade is 4.01, which will be rounded to 4.0. Note that we only round the final grade (G).

For your convenience, the table below gives examples of  harmonic means for numbers between 1 and 6.
