The objective of this course is to provide practical experience in the numerical simulation of fluid and multiphase flows through the use of a structured approach. The course will focus on the three fundamental steps of numerical flow simulation:
- pre-processing, involving geometry creation and mesh generation,
- computation, including the selection of appropriate physical and numerical models,
- post-processing, involving both visualization and quantitative analysis of the numerical solution.
A range of practical applications will be considered through flow cases and exercises using both commercial and non-commercial software packages.
