Dear all,
This is to confirm that the midterm will take place in room CE 1 6 on Friday, November 8, from 3:15 PM until 5:15 PM (and that there is regular class on Thursday, November 7, from 12:15 until 2PM, in the usual room).
Allowed material is two handwritten single-sided A4 pages, and the content of the exam will include everything done in the course until week 7.
Today's homework session can be taken as a rehearsal, as the content is exactly that of last year's midterm.
THAT SAID, I do always have mixed feelings about distributing last year exams, for the very reason that I systematically get the comment afterwards: "oh, but your midterm from last year was way easier than the one you gave us this year."
So please do not forget that when you do a mock exam, you do not have any pressure, and things are terribly easier under these circumstances...
And no, the midterm this year will not necessarily have the same format as last year's...
