When I run the command "show bgp ipv4" in a router the AS-paths end with an interrogation sign "?". It think is not a normal behavior, but I can't find a reason, what is the meaning of interrogation?

Hi Adrian,

The interrogation sign is always present. Please ignore them for the purpose of questions related to the lab.

I'm not sure why FRR/Quagga projects have chosen to put it but, as far as my observation is concerned, I suppose they mean the AS-Path can be longer if the actual originator of the network is not the last AS but some other AS. The question mark probably depicts this uncertainty.

If someone knows a better explanation, I'm happy to hear that. I'll also check that on the FRP project and update here in case I find a better explanation.

Thanks,

Jagdish
