Mini-project competition

Dear students,

Here is a quick update regarding the project competition:

- be there on Zoom (usual course link) at 12:15 on Thursday, December 17 !

- the competition will last approx. 45min-1h

- you will be given two datasets (format to be specified still), one with a larger value of n than what you had to study in the project, and another one with a truly larger value of n.

- you will be asked to run your MCMC algorithm on the two different datasets (with a different value of lambda for each dataset), and upload the set of cities (format to be specified still) that you found in each case.

- You will therefore get two scores: the highest score on the largest dataset wins, and in case of equality, the highest score on the smaller dataset will decide.

- The winner takes at all: members of the winning team will get automatically the full grade for the project + a small bonus (exact value to be decided still).

More detailed instructions will follow, at the latest at the beginning of next week.

All the best,

Nicolas and Olivier

PS: Gentle reminder: the deadline for submitting your report+code on Moodle is Monday, December 14, 11:59 PM.
