Hi everyone,

We just corrected a few errors and typos in the exercises and solutions. The errors are mainly concerned about the numerical results and typos in sentence. So far we don’t find any technical mistake in the exercise solution. If you have already done your course reviews, no need to go through the exercise again.

The updates are mainly the following,

In exercise 2, the first question is about combustion process (there was typo there previously). In solution 2, part 1 (a) (ii), the flow rate is 15 m3/s. part 2 (e), the enthalpy of point 10 is 207.2 kJ/kg, the following numerical results are corrected accordingly.

In solution 3, the 1 (f) part exists a typo in unit, which should be MJ.

In solution 4, the table in part 1 (b) is updated. The point 3 enthalpy is out of the range of the superheated steam table given in the data sheet, so you can use online data source for this point. The point 4 properties can be found from saturated steam table. Also, clarified some description in the part 6. The part 6 is not mandatory exercise.

In exercise 5, in part 1, the 45 kW and 66 kW refers to the peak power, just clarify this. In solution 5, part 2, the initial guess of the resistance starts from 2 ohm for convenience.

In exercise and solution 7, we also updated and corrected a few typos in units and missed minus sign, etc, a few weeks ago.

Sincerely apologize for this inconvenience for you.

If you still have the last-minute question, no hesitate to send email to us. And good luck on your final exam.

Regards,

Shuo
