I do not quite understand the difference between the homework and lab assignements we've been given. Does the difference between the two lie only in the period where we can ask questions about it ?

There's no real difference, other than the fact that the lab requires a computer, while the homework requires only pen and paper (and it's also more demanding intellectually).
Regarding when you can ask questions in person:
- Tuesday office hours are for homework.
- Most Wednesday sessions are for labs, but every now and then we dedicate a Wednesday session to homework review (we will let you know when a homework review session is coming up).
Of course, you can ask questions about lab or homework any time on Discord or Moodle.
