Lab 5 Part 2

Hi,

In lab 5 part 2, question 2 is "

Indicate those that are designated routers (DR) or backup designated routers (BDR). Your answer should follow this format:

DR ri rj ; BDR rx ry

Where i, j, x and y are the corresponding indices of the routers, i<j and x<y
".

Then in question 7 we get a set of possible answers that include another field LSAs.

Also, ip show ospf neighbors outputs only one line

10.10.25.2 [...] Full/Backup

It translates to DR ; BDR r2; but question 7 doesn't show a similar answer.

Is it normal that this command outputs only one line ? If not, do you know how to fix this ?

Best regards,

Ali

Hello,

In question 7 we ask you what network-LSAs are advertised by r3 this depends on your observations in question 2.

Concerning command you executed you might have to wait a bit to let OSPF converge. Furthermore, r3 cannot advertise 10.10.25.0/24.

I'm not really sure if you also speak about question 8 as you said you can't find "DR ; BDR r2" in the question. If this is the case it is indeed incorrect as you need  a state for all neighbor routers of r3.

Best regards,

Marc

Thank you for your answer.

There was a typo inside my Python script that affected R5 and caused all of this...
