Exercise wave and tidal power

Exercise wave and tidal power

Hello,

In the exercise, the power of the wave is calculated using:

P (kW/m) = 2.45 * wave-amplitude2 * wavespeed.

However, this is different from that in the slides. And the density of the water is not even involved. Could you explain how it comes out?

Thanks,

On slide 42 of the Tidal/Wave power chapter you have the formula 2.45 . sqr(wave-amplitude). windspeed where wavespeed = windspeed. The water density is in the factor 2.45, see the 2 preceding slides 41 and 40.
