The answer for this question says that "DR ; BDR r2 r5 ; LSAs 10.10.23.3 and 10.10.35.3" is also a possible configuration. When will the routers choose not to elect a designated router?

Hello,
In this configuration, r3 itself is the designated router for both links. So, r3 would be a DR both for r2 and r5 if you were to check their neighbors.
Hope that this answers your question.
