Hi,
I am trying to understand how the algorithm works, but I can't. Among other things, I don't understand how it is possible that y_i = 1. In series 7, it says y_i = 1 if the outcome is H^di|1⟩ (i.e. if it is |1⟩ or H|1⟩).
But if the outcome is H^di|1>, it means that they did not make the measurement in the same base. I can't convince myself that this works.
Could you please explain it to me again?
Thanks in advance

Hi Mathieu,
Assuming Alice prepares a state in one basis and Bob measures in a different basis ,in half of these cases Bob sets yi= 1. You can see this in this map of possible scenarios attached. Hopefully this makes it clearer. Let me know if you still have more questions.
