 HI about 1 and 2 ,

About the first one what is marked as True,The intrinsic parameter matrix is not typically converted camera coordinates into pixel coordinates and not image corresponds to pixels?

Secondly, the camera projection matrix represents the mapping from 3D points in the world to 2D points in an image. It is the product of the intrinsic and extrinsic matrices, and it indeed has 12 elements, so is it representing 12 degrees of freedom? according  the answers is it False

Thanks for your help,
Amit

Hi Amit,

1. You are right about that. We could say intrinsic matrix is used to convert camera (image) coordinates to pixels.
2. The answer is not correct. For the intrinsic matrix, the DoF is typically 5; for the extrinsic matrix, it's 6.

Hello,
1: I am not sure what you mean. As stated on slide 43 of the image formation lecture, the matrix of intrinsic parameters converts image coordinates into pixels.

2: as seen in the lecture, despite being a 3*4 matrix, P has 11 degrees of freedom, not 12. See slide 47 and previous ones in the same lecture on image formation.

I hope it helps,
Benoit
