Dear ER students,
I've realized that an important piece of information is missing from the hardware guide. This concerns the microcontroller board - some of you have received the new, unused boards which by default have SJ2 jumper open. To propagate the input voltage to the servo motor power rail this solder jumper should be CLOSED. Place a small blob of solder to connect both pads of the jumper together.
This is the most probable reason if your servo-motors are not functioning after you've programmed the arduino code.
