Linux on Nios II

Linux on Nios II

Hi,

We are still thinking on the definition of our project but i was wondering, is there any documentation available on how to put a Linux system on the Nios II processor ?

I didn't found any official documentation on how to do that, just articles stating that it's available.

Did I miss something?

Yes thanks but i think it only talks about putting Linux on the HPS, not the Nios II.

My apologies for not answering earlier. I didn't know of the existence of this mini-forum and did not receive any notifications for new posts!

Could I ask why you'd like to run linux on the Nios processor instead of the HPS? It would be very slow on a Nios and would not really have any advantages? If you really need an OS on the Nios so you could handle multiple simultaneous tasks, I'd go for an RTOS like the one we used earlier in the course.
