On slide 8 of "key human senses / immersion", immersion is defined as:
"the objective level of fidelity of the sensory stimuli produced by a technological system [S2003] => technical features."
And it is furthermore said that it is:
"Measurable and controllable as it depends only on technology"
I don't understand how those two things are reconcilable:
- on one hand, the ability to reproduce a human, subjective, sensory stimuli
- on the other hand, technological advances
For example, is a HMD with a resolution of 40K more immersive than one of 80K ? Given that no two humans would be able to differentiate them.
